Outdoor Soccer
DUSC’s general rule is that we will not cancel an Outdoor Session for rain but will for lightning. We will suspend a session for lightning temporarily and wait until 30 minutes after the last lightning strike.
See below for policy on strike distances:
- greater than 30 miles away: proceed unaffected
- 20-30 miles away: proceed with monitoring
- 10-20 miles away: proceed with caution and monitoring (use field space closer to shelters and gather all belongings under shelter before proceeding)
- less than 10 miles away: seek shelter immediately
We can only suspend a session for a reasonable amount of time before darkness or another training session starts. Those circumstances would force a cancellation.
Torrential rains that make fields unplayable would also warrant a cancellation. For this specific circumstance, DUSC will try and post a Cancellation Notice on the website. If a notice is not posted on our website, activities will continue as scheduled.
If possible, sessions will be made up if space and time are available to the club.
Indoor Soccer
